Olympia Greece

Olympia was the sight of the very first Olympic games in around 750 BC.  All the buildings and temples are now in ruins but the stadium and field are much as they were back in the day.  Enjoy the pictures. I have added four posts today.  Make sure you look at all four.  They are all about the Greek islands we visited.


Nearly 2800 years ago the Ancient Greeks were walking here.



This is where they held the first Olympic games.
It is also where they light the Olympic flame that is carried to the sight of the modern Olympics.





There is a museum on the sight.

The dug up this Ancient Greek and you can see a glass bottle that was buried nest to his head.  The picture below is that bottle in the museum.
