THE REAL FRANCE IS NOT IN PARIS

Today we slept in.  After we got out, we walked the back streets of Sarlat.  As the title states Sarlat is the real France.  Everyone has to see Paris, but after you have, the real beauty of foreign countries is their small towns.  In a place like Sarlat you see 6 or 7 hundred years of history and it takes 10 min to walk from the north end of town to the south end.  You can walk every street in town in an hour.  Every street and most alleys are filled with beautiful pictures that you see in picture books.
The way France works is kind of interesting.  Stores open at 10:00 and close from 12:00 to 2:00 for lunch. Then they open until about 5:00 and it's a day.  I think 30 or 35 hours is all you can work in a week.  Nobody gets in a hurry around here; laid back the order of the day.
For those of you that liked our post last night about our dinner, all the restaurants were closed on Tuesday night.  We had cold fast food.

As usual I'm with the best looking girl in town.

I think this is a printing press.

Every old city in Europe and new ones too have paving like this. Rocks about 3 inches square arranged in fan patterns.

Monument to the WWI soldiers

This is a street; mostly foot traffic.

Doin what comes natural.
