BORDEAUX WINE COUNTRY THEN ON TO ALBI

Today we left Sarlat.  We first drove over to the Bordeaux area to drive through the vineyards.  After driving through Bordeaux we headed southeast, for about 3 hours, to our new base, Albi.  Albi is an old town.  The first settlement here was in the Bronze age (3000-600 BC).  There was a modest Roman settlement here but the city got on the map when the Pont Vieux bridge was built in 1040 AD.  The Cathedral behind Nonette and I in the first picture was started around 1280.  While here we will visit more small towns, ride bicycles along the canal, and probably make it down to the Mediterranean for a day.  Enjoy the pictures of Bordeaux.
