WIERTHEIM, GERMANY

Today we visited Wiertheim, Germany.  It is situated at the confluence of the rivers Tauber and Main.  It dates back to the 8th century.  Most of the current buildings go back as far as the 15th Century.  Nonnie and I had coffee and a roll at a little coffee house.  It was a really pretty town with a castle on a hill that had been destroyed during the 30 years war.  Lots of Half Timber construction.  Have a look at the pictures

This Pretzel bakery has been in this location, run by the same family for more than 400 years.

The top of the tower dates to the 15th century and the bottom to the 13th century
