A BEAUTIFUL DAY IN PARIS

It was a beautiful day in Paris.  We took a bus tour to see the sights and we got some good pictures.  We saw Notre Dame Cathedral and it was impressive.  We went back to the Christmas Market where there weren't nearly as many people as last night.  Tomorrow we are off to Luxembourg then we board our ship for the cruise starting on the Mosel River.  See you tomorrow.

The building with the points on the edge of the Seine was originally a castle for the king in the 16th century.  During the French Revolution it was a prison.  Marie-Antoinette was held there for 2 months before she went to the gilotin.

Napoleon stole the obelisk from Egypt.  They put up the ferris wheel every Christmas then the take it down.

The building in the center is being restored.  What you see is the cover they put over the scaffolding.  Looks much better than scaffolding.  The statue on the left is at the place the gilotin was placed when they cut off the heads of the royals during the French revolution in the 18th century.
